Islamist-related terrorism investigation following Luton & Bedfordshire arrests

One of the three men arrested by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command (SO15) on Tuesday, 14 July has been released.
The man in his 30s, arrested at a residential address in the Luton area, Bedfordshire, was release without charge today, Monday, 20 July.
Two other men arrested – one in his 20s arrested at a business address in Letchworth, Hertfordshire; the other also in his 20s arrested at the residential address in the Luton area, Bedfordshire – remain in custody.
Officers applied late Wednesday, 15 July to Westminster Magistrates’ Court for a warrant of further detention for up to seven days (from the time of arrest), which was granted by the court.
The men were all arrested under the Terrorism Act on Tuesday, 14 July, on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into Islamist-related terrorism. As this is an active investigation, officers are not releasing any further information at this stage.
