Detectives investigating the assault of a prisoner custody officer at Blackfriars Crown Court have been informed this morning, Friday 2 July that the victim has died.
She was Lorraine Barwell, 54, a prisoner custody officer for Serco.
A man had previously been charged with her assault.
Humphrey Burke, 22 (04.03.93) of no fixed abode appeared in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 1 July charged with Grevious Bodily Harm (GBH – cont. Section 18 Offences Against the Person Act 1861).
He was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on 15 July.
