Shortly before 11.50pm on Wednesday 22nd July 2015 police were called to an address on Blantyre Streetin Swinton to a report of a firearm discharge.
Armed officers were deployed to the scene and discovered damage to a door that was consistent with a shotgun discharge.
A man wearing a balaclava was seen leaving the scene in a dark coloured car.
No-one was injured. The scene has been secured for forensic examination and inquiries are on-going.
Detective Chief Inspector Clare Devlin from Salford division, said: “We are at the early stagesof our inquiries, but at this stage we do not believe this was a random attack and there is not believed to be a wider threat to the community.
“Fortunately no-one was injured, but they easily could have been and we have a team of detectives working to find out who is responsible.
“If you saw a dark car in the area of Blantyre Street around midnight last night or youhave any information that you believe would be useful to the investigation than please come forward and speak to ourselves.”
