Secuirty Guard Air Lifted To Hospital At Blackfriars Crown Court Attempted Murder

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating the serious assault of a Serco security guard.
At approximately 13:35hrs on Monday, 29 June officers were alerted to a Serco security guard who had been seriously assaulted by a male prisoner at Blackfriars Crown Court.
The guard – a woman believed aged in her 50s – was assaulted as she escorted the prisoner between the court and a waiting van which was parked inside the court yard.
London’s Air Ambulance attended and the victim was treated at the scene before being taken to an east London hospital – she remains there in a critical condition.
Next of kin have been informed.
The man, aged 22, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at a south London police station.
