Norfolk Constabulary can confirm a member of support staff has been injured following the attacks in Tunisia yesterday.

Tony Callaghan, who works at North Walsham PEO as a property officer, was with his wife on holiday when they were both sadly injured in the incident. Their injuries have required hospital treatment but are not life-threatening.

We are liaising with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to ensure regular updates regarding the couple and to provide assistance to their family back home in Norfolk.

We are also able to confirm that a Norfolk police officer was also, independently from the Callaghans, on holiday in the resort at the time of the incident. He is however safe and well.

No further information relating to the officer can be released at this stage.
