Police have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of the body of a woman at a property in Peterborough.

Officers were called to the house in Mayor’s Walk at just after 12.30pm today (June 5).

A cordon has been put up and police, including scenes of crime officers, remain at the premises.

A post mortem examination is due to take place at Peterborough City Hospital on Monday.

I am not able to confirm the identity of the victim at this stage. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information should contact the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
