A Barrow man has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for a number of child sex offences.
Mark Logan, aged 42, of Wensum Ley, Walney, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Friday 19th June 2015.
Logan, who was already serving a prison term for child sex crimes at HMP Preston entered a guilty plea to the latest offences involving children under 13 years of age at an earlier hearing.
Detective Constable Matthew McFall of Barrow CID said:
“Mark Logan is dangerous sexual offender, he has been classed as such by the courts today. He therefore must serve at least two thirds of the sentence passed. I am pleased that this sentence protects the general public for many years to come and the two families who have contributed to this investigation can have some closure.
“Cumbria is a very safe county, and we take offences such as these extremely seriously. I would urge anyone who has been a victim of a sexual offenceto come forward and report them. We take all complaints seriously, and they will be investigated professionally and sensitively.”
