Unexploded WWII bomb unearthed in Wembley

Road closures remain in place as work continues to make safe an unexploded World War II bomb unearthed in Wembley.

Police were called at 14:57hrs on Thursday, 21 May to a building site on Empire Way, Wembley to reports of the unexploded device.
The 50kg device was discovered by builders working at the location.

A 400m cordon has been put in place around the site. Work is underway to make safe the device. This work is ongoing.

A number of residential and business addresses have been evacuated as a precaution.
Officers and partner agencies continue to work to ensure disruption for local people is kept to a minimum.
