River Tees search underway for missing newcastle male

Emergency Services are currently searching the River Tees Low Force area close to the Wynch Bridge, Bowelees. 

The recieved reports of a male in difficulty within the water within the Middleton-in Teesdale, Barnard Castle area.

Durham Constabulary, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, North East Ambulance Service with assistance from Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team have attended the area and undertaken an extensive search of the River.
Unfortunately the male, a 36 year old man from the Newcastle area has not been located at this time.
Continued searches and enquiries are presently being progressed.
Police officers are liaising with the family and maintaining an ongoing dialogue as to all enquiries and any further developments.
Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Steve Ball stated,
“All the possible lines of enquiry are being progressed utilising all the appropriate and professional resources possible. The ongoing search is both difficult and dangerous and as a result I would encourage the public to leave the continued enquires to the emergency services.

This is a traumatic time for family as a result we will continue to provide support and advise of all developments with our continued enquiries.”
