Woman dies after fatal collision in Shopshire

A woman has died following a road traffic collision between two cars in Shropshire this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Station Road, Whitchurch, shortly after 12.45pm.

An ambulance, a paramedic area support officer, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find CPR already in progress on the woman before they took over to administer advanced life support to try and resuscitate her.

“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone it became apparent that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

“Crews also assessed a man from the second car for minor injuries, but he did not require any further treatment.”
