Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed in Leyton.

Officers were called at approximately 21:50hrs on Thursday, 16 April to reports of a man stabbed inside a bar/restaurant in Lea Bridge Road, E10.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended and the man, believed aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 22:38hrs.

Police believe they know the identity of the deceased. Next of kin have been informed but formal identification awaits.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command investigate and retain an open mind as to the motive at this early stage.

No arrests, enquiries continue.
