Arrests made after man found unconscious in Hartlepool Street

Police have arrested two 17-year-old men from the Hartlepool area after a 24-year-old man was found unconscious in the street in the early hours of Easter Monday.

The man was found by a member of the public with significant head injuries at around 12.45am on Monday 6th April at the junctions of Eskdale Road and Eaglesfield Road in Hartlepool. He is believed to have been with friends in the Hour Glass Public House until around midnight. 

He was located unconscious around 45 minutes later and taken via ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers today arrested two 17-year-old men on suspicion of GBH and both are currently in custody. 

Shortly before the man was found, three people were reported to have been seen arguing and officers yesterday appealed for anyone with information regarding these people to come forward.
