Tonight skys are expected to be clear for most of the United kingdom giving way for stargazer to watch tonights Lyrid Meteor Shower. 

It is expected that there will be around 15 to 20 shooting starts an hour. 

Shooting stars are sand-like particles shed by a comet, they leave bright streaks of lights across the sky and then burn up in the atmosphere.
