Police are appealing for informationafter a number of railway track safety devices were stolen from a car in Sunderland.
The theft happened between 6pm and 6.40pm,on Wednesday, March 17.
Thieves gained entry to the car, parked on Vicarage Court, Hylton Castle before making off with items from inside.
The stolen goods included a number of railway fog detonators. The devices are designed to detonate on a railway track when ran over by a train so are unlikely to cause harm without having this extreme pressure applied to them.
However, police are urging anyone whospots them discarded to leave them as they found them and contact police.
A total of seven devices are missingand are described as the size of a tealight candle.
