A police constable has today been remanded in custody accused of the murder of his wife.
The police constable serving with Northamptonshire Police has been named as PC Otis goldsmith, 49.
He is charged with killing his wife Jill Goldsmith within police grounds.
Goldsmith has served with the force for 28 years was arrested affter cops were called to a house in Wootton Hall park, Northampton, on Thursday.
The officer appeared at Corby Magistrates Court this morninf and was remanded in custody.
A forensic post-mortem examination of the victim yesterday gave the cause of death as a head injury.
