A Police Officer has been charged with murdering his wife within police grounds, within an area that houses police officers. 

The officer who lives within Wootton Hall Park located near Northamptonshire Police headquarters remains in police custody following the death of his wife.

PC Otis Goldsmith, 49, will appear ar Corby Magistrates’ Court this morning.

A forensic post mortem examination took place yesterday at Leicester Royal Infirmary when the cause of death was confirmed to be head injury.

Officers arrested PC Goldsmith at 1pm while he was off duty on Thursday with the home he shares with his wife. 

Goldsmith has servered as a police constable for 28 years and was due to retire. 

He married his wife Jill Goldsmith on May 18th last year having been married a number of times.
