Police were called to Llangwm in Penplas, Swansea shortly before 12.10am this morning following reports of a house fire.

A man and a woman were taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea suffering from burns and the effects of smoke. The injuries are not life threatening.

A third person who was at the property is believed to have died. Due to the unsafe condition of the house, the body has not been recovered and therefore the identity of this person has not been confirmed.

Officers remain at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage and will be subject to a joint investigation.
