Cleveland Police were contacted at 12.15pm today, Sunday 22nd March, by a member of the public who had concerns for a man they had seen on the cliff tops at Saltburn.

Police and colleagues from the Coastguard searched the cliffs and beach area and sadly found the body of a man on the beach a short time later.

Next of kin are being informed of the man’s death which is not currently being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.

Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this sad and difficult time.
