Jake aged two sadly dies following collision

Police have confirmed the identity of the boy who died following injuries suffered in a collision with a vehicle at Gosforth.

His identity has been confirmed as Jake Kenneth Fawcett, aged two, from Seascale.

Jake’s family said: “Jake was a typical two year old who enjoyed getting into mischief with his twin sister Phoebe and older sister Annie.

“He loved watching Peppa Pig, playing with his cousins and dunking biscuits in people’s tea

“Jake will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We would just like to thank the community for the amazing support and kind words. Shine bright little man” 

Shortly after 4.30pm on Saturday 21st March 2015, emergency services were called to a premises at Gosforth after a two year old boy had been seriously injured following a collision with a vehicle. 

Jake was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary at Newcastle but died shortly after his arrival.

 An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.The family are being supported at this time by trained officers.
