Murder detectives have this evening bailed six people and released five without charge following a murder in Thamesmead.
Two women have four men all aged under 25 were arrested in the early hours of Sunday 1st February following shots being fired at 4.30am on Erebus Drive, SE28.
Borough officers made their way to the scene.
While on their way to the incident, the officers then came across two cars stopped in the road in Western Way, Thamesmead – a dark blue Ford Focus and a grey Audi A3 – containing a total of three occupants.
One of the occupants in the Ford Focus had gunshot wounds.
London Ambulance Service attended and the man, aged in his 20s, was taken to a London hospital where he died at approximately 06:30hrs.
The two other men in the cars were not arrested.
Next of kin have been informed. A post mortem examination and formal identification will take place in due course.
11 people were arrested in connection with this incident; six were subsequently bailed and five released with no further action as above.
