We announced three days ago that Police Forces around the United Kingdom are bracing for deep cuts that will have a direct impact on front line operational policing.
17 thousands officers have gone leaving officer numbers at the lowest they have been since 2001, This government have targeted the firearms units, police dogs, police community support officers, support staff and front line policing.
We can now reveal these cuts will come to The National Police Air Service.

Police forces will loose access to their own helicopter and be forced to share these across a number of police force areas.
These difficult decisions have now been taken because funding for these helicopters are running out.

There are currently 22 police helicopters based across the United Kingdom and the British Transport Police.
