Man dies following fail to stop collision in Osterley

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a fail to stop collision in Osterley this morning.

Police were called to the scene of a road traffic collision just before 0500hrs this morning, 8 February at the A4 Great West Road, junction with Wood Lane, Osterley.

Officers attended and found a 31-year-old male pedestrian had been in collision with a blue BMW on the west-bound carriageway. The vehicle failed to stop.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

All next of kin are in the process of being informed.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a blue BMW making off from the scene heading west-bound towards Heathrow.

Enquiries are underway by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

No arrests have been made.

Long traffic delays are expected along this route. Motorists are advised to plan alternatives routes.
The highway is closed to traffic in both directions from Gillette Corner to Thornbury Road.
