Police are appealing forwitnesses after a knifepoint robbery at a shop in Monton.

At about 3.30pm on Wednesday4 February 2015, a man went into Top Shop on Rocky Lane and made his wayto the counter, put down his holdall and produced a kitchen knife. He thendemanded that the shopkeeper emptied the contents of the till into thebag, before leaving the shop and running away towards Park Road.

The man is described as white,in his mid-twenties, 5ft 6in tall, well built, with long blonde or brownhair in a ponytail, and a short beard. He was wearing blue jeans and ablack hoodie and was carrying a black holdall.

Police are now appealingfor anybody with information to come forward.

Detective Constable WillHardman of Salford division said: “This is an appalling incident, duringwhich a man was threatened with a knife.

“The victim was simply tryingto earn a living and has been left extremely distressed by what happened.

“If you have any informationabout this incident or recognise the description of the man please contactpolice.”
