A careless tweeter may soon be feeling the force of the law after posting to social media network twitter that he had just hit a cyclist.
Avon and Somerset Police are now investigating the tweet which said “Think I just hit a cyclist. But I’m late for work so had to drive off lol”.
We are aware of a tweet regarding a collision between a car and a bike. We are looking into this now. Any witnesses call 101.

Twitter quickly reacted to the news which soon reached Greater Manchester Police who issued advice to the tweeter.
@RayQ18 If you hit a cyclist, you are obliged to stop. I suggest you call 101 as soon as possible, I will forward the details on.

The user has since changed his privacy settings meaning only approved followers can now follow him.
The Tweeter named Rayhan Qadar has confirmed that the tweet was a joke gone wrong and had not knocked anyone down.
Although his employer did not see the funny side of things and sacked him with immediate effect over the tweet.
