A man arrested by police in connection with an allegation of a serious sexual assault in Newmarket, has been released on bail.
Officers were approached just before 2.15am on Sunday 25 January, by a woman who stated she had been sexually assaulted on the playing fields in Rowley Drive.
On Tuesday 27 January, police arrested an 18-year-old man from Cambridgeshire on suspicion of rape. He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been released on bail until Wednesday 29 April pending further enquiries.
