Man assaulted with spade in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle

Northumbria Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Newcastle.

The man was assaulted on Saturday 17th January between 10pm to 10.30pm in Jesmond Dene.

Police believe the man who is aged 56 was assaulted with a spade which cause head injury.

He received hospital treatment for hisinjuries and has since been discharged.

Officers are keen for any witnesses, in particular a man who was walking two whippit type dogs in the park on Tuesday, January 20, to get in contact. The man could be a key witnesses to enquiries.
