Hartlepool man Mark Lowery aged 44 is being investigated by Cleveland Police after he posted an image of a decapitated fox on Facebook.
Lowery has claimed he found the dead fox on the roadside and posted the image to provoke anti-hunt protesters.
Lowery beheaded the dead fox and posted the vile image to Facebook to provoke a reaction to show how vicious anti-fox hunt protesters are.
Hours before uploading the image Lowery threatened Facebook users saying a fox would be ‘going down’ if any more of his images were reported and banned.
A number of social media users have confirmed Lowery uploaded videos of various animals being skinned on the social media network.
Cleveland Police have confirmed they have taken Lowery’s guns off him and are checking his suitability to hold a firearm.
The RSPCA are investigating the images.
