Crime scene in place after sexual assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after receiving a report of a sexual assault in Newmarket.

Officers were approached just before 2.15am this morning, Sunday 25 January, by a woman who stated she had been sexually assaulted on the playing fields in Rowley Drive. The victim is now receiving support from specialist trained police officers.

A police scene is currently in place on the playing fields and officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area between 11.30pm last night and 2am this morning, who may have information about this incident.
