Police in Bridgend are issuing an appeal after concerns for the safety of a woman and a baby were raised by a member of the public.

The young woman is reported to be wearing a dressing gown, three quarter length leggings and a pair of trainers. Her hair was blonde and pulled into a ponytail.

Both the woman and the child were last seen just after 8:30pm outside the Cooperative Supermarket, The Triangle, Brackla Way, Bridgend.

South Wales Police Inspector Gary Smart said: “While we’ve received no missing person report, the weather is cold and wet and from the information we’ve received, we believe neither mother or baby were dressed for the conditions. We would therefore appeal to anyone who may have information that will help us identify and locate this woman to contact us immediately on 101. We also ask that the woman herself to make contact, so we can be sure she and the baby are now safe.”
