A distressed woman in Gloucester has called the police emergency number 999 because her neighbour’s cat begun giving her a strange look.

She called police reporting that the cat was giving her a strange look, wanting officers to deal with it.

Gloucester Police Control Room worker PC Jon Wiffen believes that people are not educated on how 999 should be used.

Although a strange looking cat does not warrant a call to the police members of the public are urged to contact 101 in non-emergency situations.
