Damon Betterton, 26, is wanted for a breach of his notification requirements after failing to notify police of his address.
Betterton was previously living at an address in Blackpool but it is believed that he no longer lives at that address and has failed to notify police of his whereabouts.
Betterton was convicted of sexual activity and assault on a female in 2007 in the USA. These were transferred to the UK on his return here and he is required to sign the sex offenders’ register until 2017.
DS Paul Stables of Lancashire Constabulary’s Public Protection Unit, said: “We take any breach of notification requirements very seriously and I would urge anyone with information on where he might be to contact us. I would also urge Betterton himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in to the police.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 where details can be passed to the DASO (Dangerous and Sexual Offenders’) Unit at West.
Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
