Kent Police is appealing for the public’s help after a prisoner absconded from HMP Standford Hill on Sheppey.

Mark Worden, 55, was last seen at the open prison on the morning of Friday 3 October.

Worden has links to Faversham and Greenhithe, as well as Bromley and Mottingham in the greater London area.

Detective Sergeant Cara Ferguson of Kent Police, who is coordinating the search, said: `Staff identified Worden had left the prison on Friday morning, between 8am and the role call at 12pm.

`We do not believe he poses an immediate risk to the public, but Kent Police would never advise members of the public to approach a person unlawfully at large directly.

‘If you see him, or have any information, please call Kent Police on 999.’
