17 – year old boy has been raped in a Salford park

A 17-year-old boy was raped as he walked through a park in Salford.

At around 12:50am on Wednesday 8 October 2014, the boy was walking in Buille Hill Park in the Eccles area when he was approached by two men, one from the front and the other from behind.

He was then pushed to the ground and raped.

The men, described as white and in their late twenties, were both wearing shorts and hoodies with the hoods up. One of them had blonde hair and was wearing glasses.

Detective Chief Inspector Clare Devlin said: “This is a very serious incident which we are actively investigating.

“The boy is obviously extremely distressed, having been subject to a vicious attack, and we are doing all we can to support him.

“There will be extra Police patrols in the area of Buille Hill Park in order to reassure the public and I am appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“If you believe that you may have any information that could assist the investigation or lead to the identification and arrest of the persons responsible, please contact us.

“In the meantime, I would urge people to take extra care, remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings.”
