Police have this morning named a three year old boy who died following a pond incident as Callum Grahame Greenwood of Elswick Road in the west end.

Police Officer’s have attended an incident and found the body of a three-year-old in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne who was reported missing by his parents.

Police attended the scene at 6.47pm on Thursday, September 25th after it was reported that a three-year-old boy who had been playing in a relative’s garden in Elswick Road, in the west end of Newcastle has gone missing.

Upon arrival police searched the back garden and tragically found the boy in a pond at the same address, he was located approximately 10 minuets after his parents had reported him missing.

Sadly he was pronounced dead at the RVI hospital in Newcastle, Police are conducting Enquiries and are preparing a report for the coroner.

Northumbria Police Superintendent Mick Paterson said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. They are understandably absolutely devastated and officers with specialist training are providing them with support.”
