Emergency services were this evening Wednesday 17th September 2014, call to reports of a serious chemical fire at Teesport in Middlesbrough.
Emergency services received reports of of a machinery fire, at 5pm, it is believed a chemical tanker being lifted caught fire.
A number of fire appliances attended the scene with police closing Tees Dock Road at the A66.
The blaze was quickly extinguished with no reports of injures.
Police officers are now in the processes of reopening the road two hours after the incident occurred.
One eye witness has told Police Hour that a platform lifter, which was lifting a chemical tanker had caught fire.
