Man rushed to hospital after disturbance breaks out involving 30 people

Detectives are investigating a large-scale disturbance that broke out at Deansgate Lock this morning, Tuesday, 23 September 2014.

Police responded to reports of 30 to 40 people fighting outside Sakurka, a local pub.

Police attended the scene and discovered a 20-year-old man who had suffered a puncture wound to his torso.

He was rushed to hospital and received treatment for minor injuries.

Greater Manchester Police has told Police Hour they believe a fight broke out inside the pub, this spilt on to the street and escalated.

30 to 40 people are believed to have been brawling outside the pub, they had dispersed before police arrived.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunk and disorderly and a 20-year-old man was arrested for public order. Both remain in custody.
