Man faces child destruction charges after punching pregnant girl

Police have arrested a man after he punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach, ultimately killing the unborn baby.

Police were called to an ongoing domestic incident at Copster Hill Park in Oldham.

Attending officers found a 16-year-old girl who was seven months pregnant was punched in the stomach by her partner.

She was taken to hospital but sadly lost her baby in the tragic domestic incident.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of child destruction and a Section 18 Assault. He remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Daniels, said: “The circumstances surrounding this are exceptionally tragic.

“We have specially trained officers supporting the girl, who is distraught by what happened in a way I cannot begin to imagine.

“To punch a heavily pregnant woman in the stomach is an unthinkable act and I can only reassure people that we are doing everything we can to fully and thoroughly investigate the full circumstances of this appalling crime.

“The incident happened in a public park in broad daylight and we know from what people have already said to us that others may have been present in or around the park who have seen this take place or have information that can help us with this investigation.

“We need to speak to these people urgently. If anyone has any information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”

Dad arrested after Mylee Billingham aged 8 stabbed to death

Eight-year old Mylee Billingham was stabbed to death in her own home, Her father has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Mylee was found with serious stab injuries and rushed to Hospital, but died a short time later.

Her father Bill Billingham aged 54 is a murder suspect in the case, he has been arrested he remains in a critical condition after attempts failed to take his own life.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the murder.

He is under a police guard after he was discovered with a stab wound to his stomach and will have to undergo surgery.

Police officers responding to a domestic incident were called to a house in Brownhills near Walsall in West Mindlands at 9.15pm on Saturday.

 

Her father uploaded a photo of Mylee to his Facebook profile just before emergency services were alerted to the tragedy.

The post was captioned with the words “Pitza on bed Iv Moo x.”

The girl was pictured on her bed smiling with two plates of pizza in front of her, Moments later she was murdered.

A post-mortem examination will take place later to establish the exact cause of Mylee’s death.

West Midlands Police said Billingham is yet to be questioned by officers due to his condition.

Girl aged 8 who was stabbed to death named as Mylee Billingham

A little girl who was tragically stabbed to death has been named as 8-year-old Mylee Billingham.

Police responded to a domestic related incident near Walsall and sadly discovery Mylee seriously injured.

Despite frantic efforts by police, paramedics and doctors nothing could be done to save Mylee.

Cops immediately arrested a man aged 54 in connection with her murder.

Sadly Mylee was found with life threatening injuries at a property in Brownhills, near Walsall, on Saturday night, and died a short time later in hospital.

West Midlands Police said the man was also taken to hospital with a stab wound to the stomach.

The 54-year-old man who was arrested remains in a “critical” condition and will Be question “in due course” in relation to the murder of 8 year old Mylee.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with Mylee’s death.

Our thoughts are with Mylee’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Girl 8 stabbed to dead in Walsall, West Midlands

Police have launched a murder investigation after an 8 year old girl was stabbed to death near Walsall.

A 54-year-old man has been arrested following the attack overnight in Brownhills.

Cops responded to a 999 call at 9.15pm to reports of a disturbance at the address on arrival they found a girl with serious injuries.

She was rushed to hospital but sadly nothing could be done to save her this girls injuries were too serious and she died a short time later.”

The 54-year-old man was also taken to hospital and treated for a stab wound to his stomach.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the homicide unit, said: “We are treating this as a domestic incident and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the child’s death.

“Our family liaison team are supporting the family of the little girl, who are naturally devastated by her death. Our thoughts remain with them.”
