Police Officers have evacuated 200 homes this evening following the discovery of what police are calling a “potentially volatile” substance in a flat.

Police are working with emergency planners to move all families within 100m of the flat in question in at Newhall, South Derbyshire.

Residents will not be allowed to return to their homes this evening.

It is not known what the substance is.
