Detectives from the Flying Squad have quickly acted upon intelligence led operation this morning, arresting four teenagers who were in the process of a smash and grab.
They begun the smash and grab at Parmigiani in Mount Street, W1, at approximately 10:59am all the males arrived on two mopeds.
They quickly alighted and began to attack the front of the shop with hammers, they were quickly followed and arrested before they could grab anything.
One male was quickly arrested at the scene while three attempted to run and were locked up by cops nearby.
One male aged 16 and two 18 year olds are currently in police custody, a fourth male is in hospital receiving treatment for a minor hand injury.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Johnson, Flying Squad, said: “This mornings arrests are another successful operation by the Met’s Flying Squad who are committed to tackling smash and grab robberies. This type of offence is not a victimless crime and we will continue to pursue relentlessly those who persist in committing robbery. I hope that this mornings operation and recent arrests and convictions the Flying Squad have secured send a strong message of deterrent to would-be-robbers, that they will be identified and brought to justice.
