Specialist medical staff have tested a man for the deadly virus Ebola after he flew into Birmingham Airport from Nigeria.

He was taken to hospital on Monday July 28th as a precaution as the man begun to feel feverish as he left the aeroplane.

The Department of Health has confirmed tests have been carried out on the man and thankfully he has been given the all clear.

The Department of Health has said they are well-prepared to identify and deal with outbreaks of Ebola in the United Kingdom, this Alert has allowed these plans to be tested.

Within the United Kingdom anyone with suspected symptoms can be diagnosed within 24 hours and will be isolated within a dedicated unit to ensure public safety.
