The two people who have been arrested over the death of a young girl from Egham have been rebailed.

A woman aged 24-year-old and a 35-year-old man were both arrested on suspicion of murder, assault occasioning GBH and child neglect after the girl died in hospital on Thursday 29 May.

Detectives launched an investigation after she was first admitted to St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey with serious injuries on Wednesday 28 May. She was transferred to St George’s Hospital in Tooting where she sadly died.

An initial post mortem examination has been carried out which was inconclusive and further tests will be carried out in due course.
