Woman threatened with knife and demanded she withdraw cash in Sunderland

Police have launched an investigation following a robbery that occurred at a cash point in Sunderland in which a woman was threatened with a knife.

The incident occurred this morning Saturday June 7th at 8.43am.

During the incident a man approached a woman at a cashpoint in Hylton Road near to the post office.

The woman was threatened with a knife and demanded she withdraw cash.

The offender is described as wearing a green balaclava, a green fleece jacket and tracksuit bottoms. He may have been on a bike.

The victim and female in her 40’s was left shaken but unhurt by the incident.

Enquiries are at a very early stage and police are appealing for anyone who was in Hylton Road this morning and who saw anything to contact them on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference number 455 070614.
