Stockton man arrested over Blackett Avenue attempted murder

Cleveland Police investigating an attempted murder have arrested a 21-year-old man.

Police attended reports of a serious assault at an address on Blackett Avenue in Stockton at around 10:50pm last night.

A 45-year-old man was taken to James Cook University Hospital with serious head and facial injuries.

Officers are currently active in the area conducting house-to-house enquiries and a cordon has been put around the address.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to contact officers on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
