Police cordon in place after woman found dead in Martlesham Heath

A Police cordon is currently in place following the discovery of a woman’s body found this evening Friday June 13th.

A member of the public living in Lark Rise, Martlesham Heath contacted police at approximately 8.55pm with a report that there were concerns for a person living nearby whose family weren’t able to get a response from the house.

When officers arrived they forced entry to the address and found the body of a woman inside.

Police have told Police Hour the death is being treated as suspicious at this time.

Earlier in the evening at 6.35pm police attended an immediate response at an address in Tunstall Green , near Woodbridge after receiving a report from the ambulance service that a man at the property had sustained injuries to his wrists.

The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

Following the discovery of the woman’s body in Lark Rise, Martlesham Heath and information received, police have since arrested the man found at the Tunstall Green address in connection with woman’s death.

The man is currently being held in custody by police for questioning and the address in Tunstall Green has also been cordoned off whilst an investigation gets underway.

Police are asking anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to contact them on 101 quoting CAD 503 of 13/6/14.
