Male taken to hospital following M58 concern for safety

Merseyside Police this morning responded to reports of a concern for safety on the M58.

Officers responded to the incident on the westbound carriageway at 1130am of a male laid on the hard shoulder.

Officers remain at the scene one carriageway remains closed and a lane is also closed on the Kirkby to Maghull road which crosses the motorway on a bridge close to the scene.

The man is being taken to hospital by ambulance. At this stage, there is no information on his injuries or condition.

An investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
