A Five Year old boy has been significantly injured after he fell from a horse carriage at Appleby Horse Fair in Cumbria.
The North West Ambulance Service attended the serious incident, the boy suffered significant injuries and was taken to Carlisle Informaray with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The incident occurred when the horse drawn carriage in which he was being carried upon was in a collision another horse drawn carriage.
A spokeswoman said: “Speed was a contributing factor to this incident. The boy was in
a carriage which was described by witnesses as travelling fast.
“Luckily, he was treated and should be fine. However, it is a reminder to all, reducing
speed in any vehicle can reduce the risk of injury or save your life.”
