Officers from Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted bag snatch in Redcar.
Police say an 80-year-old woman was approached in Aldi car park in Redcar by a man who attempted to steal her handbag.
The incident occurred on at midday on Tuesday June 3rd on Larkswood Road, the male failed to steal her bag, he left the scene in the direction of Langley Close.
It is apparent that the car park was very busy at that time and a number of people were in the area, police are appealing for these people to come forward.
The man is described as having dark hair and he was wearing a light coloured
long-sleeved top. 
Any witnesses are asked to contact DC Ian Cox at Kirkleatham Volume Crime Team on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
