Police recover body from River Ouse

North Yorkshire Police have recovered the body of a man from the River Ouse in York.

The body was found on a stretch of the river which runs along the back of St Peter’s School playing fields in Clifton.

The body was recovered at 8pm on Sunday May 18th, after a call from a member of public at 4pm.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, therefore we are not in a position to release the identity of the deceased.

The family of missing York man Mandeep Ahluwalia, have been informed of the discovery.
