Police have arrested a man in the early hours of this morning following a 21-year-old man being stabbed.
Police were alerted to the incident at 1.25am on Saturday May 24th, after a member of public raised the alarm.
The stabbing occurred on Beatty Road, Ipswich and a man had been injured.
Police and ambulance attended the scene and a 21 year old man was found with a stab wound to his shoulder.
The man has been taken to Ipswich Hospital where he is undergoing surgery for a serious injury.
A second man at the scene was taken to Ipswich Hospital with a cut to his hand; he has been treated and discharged from hospital.
Beatty Road has been closed and the immediate area around the scene has been cordoned off to allow a crime scene investigation to take place.
Enquiries have been carried out by officers and at around 4.30am a man was arrested at an address in Ipswich.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and will be taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
