Northumbria Police are appealing for information following the theft of a horse in North Shields.

Police believe the horse was stolen between 8.30pm Saturday, May 3, and 4pm Sunday, May 4, thieves stole a nine-month-old colt, named Bambi, from a stables on Murton Lane in New York.

The Horse is a Male which is of a chestnut colour, eleven hands high and has a white blaze. It has white coloured socks and a blonde tail.

They also took a purple sports grooming kit and a royal blue Disney Bambi bridal and reins.

Enquiries are ongoing into the theft and police are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the Murton Lane area on Saturday evening or Sunday morning to contact them.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they might know the whereabouts of the horse to contact them as soon as possible on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference number 024694K/14.
